Some people think that JumpSocial is primarily a Salsa dance calender. Well, it is, but it is also equally for all other dance styles.

The idea is that each event is classified by the person who posted it. Then each user indicates in their interests (part of their profile), what kinds of dance they like.

The JumpSocial system then builds them a calendar based on their own interests.

Under Salsa there is Rueda, Cuban, Peurto Rican, Columbian (Cumbian), New York, LA and Miami. Of course there is Swing. East Coast, West Coast, Lindy etc. American and International Ballroom. Many forms of Folk dancing, Freestyle, Belly Dancing (AKA Oriental Dancing), Hustle, Tango and much more.

There is a place to list band activities, DJ. Events can also be categorized by their cover or no cover charge, age group, suitability to singles or couples and many other categories.

I was just looking at the user database and here is a glimpse of some of the cities in there. There are more cities but I’d have to make a query to check the events, venues and some other stuff. For now, here are a few of the cities that are using JumpSocial. Keep in mind that the events in each city are kept separate based on Postal Code. It’s important for you to have a postal code in your profile so that the system knows which events to show you!

I must say that Salsa has really increased in popularity since I started taking lessons and practicing it over a year ago.

There are lots of good places to take lessons. Most of these have used the JumpSocial Dance Calendar.

If you have an on going weekly or monthly event and don’t know the end date, simply guess the end date. It’s important to have an end date within the JumpSocial calendar system.

All users of the JumpSocial community calendar can create calender entries and other content.

This ensures that all events get input as we are not waiting for a editor to get around to making posts or corrections.

Organizers, instructors, venue operators, enthusiats and many other people create the content for JumpSocial.
